Bose 901 Series-VI Speakers +Tulip Stands - Rare Blond Color, Great Condition - Fully Tested! 901 Series VI - collectable "iconic" consumer hi-fi loudspeakers (pair of 2 units) Series VI was last design with best sound and reliability; produced 1987 through 2016. Rare "blond" color with light tweed grill cloth Color matching Bose PS-6 "Tulip" speaker stands Excellent - near mint - condition with only a few minor scratches; no tears in grill cloth. Acoustically tested - all drivers work perfectly. I am an acoustical engineer and formerly worked for Bose Corporation, so I tested these speakers, and the acoustic performance is excellent with all drivers properly working.The Bose 901 is an iconic consumer Hi-Fi loudspeaker developed by Dr. Bose, an M.I.T. professor of electrical engineering, because he was not satisfied with sound quality of available Hi-Fi loudspeakers of the 1960's for the spatial reproduction of symphonic orchestra works. The unique Direct/Reflective driver placement provides a large soundstage when placed about 1 foot in front of a reflective rear wall/boundary and several feet away from side walls. (This design is not appropriate for bookshelf placement). These speakers are also best matched with a separate audio power amplifier of several hundred watts but can be used with audio-video receivers that have a "tape loop" function for equalization. For the best acoustic performance, these loudspeakers do require a separate EQ unit, which is NOT included with this listing (includes only 2 speakers and 2 stands, as pictured.) There are several units of the proper EQ unit - the Bose 901 Series VI Active Equalizer - listed on eBay by other sellers. However, I would recommend using one of new Digital Signal Processing units for improved acoustic performance - such as the Deer Creek Audio EQ901B Upgrade Replacement Equalizer - available direct from Deer Creek Audio, which also has an eBay store.Listing is for Local Pickup Only or I can deliver near the Louisville, KY area for a modest fee.
